5/15/2018 – Park and Ride Route.
Missed Monday since we were coming back from Emmy’s graduation from Gonzaga with a degree in Business Administration. Summa Cum Laude! Today, we got off to a slow start and did not speed up. This is our shortest route. Per Garmin, we walked 5.46 miles and took 2 hours and 20 minutes. We found a crescent wrench, a big speaker magnet and a needle along with all the usual beer cans, cigarette butts, etc. We got some random waves but did not see any of our regulars.
Well, THAT didn’t work.
Discarded Easter kitchen door magnet.
Found $10!
Play money 😦
The missing piece!
“Seeing pink elephants” is a euphemism for drunken hallucination” – Wikipedia.
No wonder we walked so slow this morning.
Bonk! Bonk! Bonk!
Mole migraines.
5/16/2018 – Safeway Route
This was a relatively heavy day of small stuff day for both trash and traffic. We did not see any of our regulars but got a few waves.
Another fork in the road.
But it had its tines crossed so we didn’t trust it.
Colorful hat for Goodwill.
Came upon a road accident.
It was a real spectacle.
5/17/2018 – Park and Ride Route.
Relatively light day for both trash and traffic. We got a honk from Mr. Handyman and several waves.
By the freeway across from the park and ride, the county cleared a lot of growth but left a bunch of debris.
I reported it on SeeClickFix.com. So far, it has been SeeClickIgnore.
Fremont has its Troll under the bridge.
Norway Hill has the Monster under the mailbox.
At least for the crow.
Since we started walking, we periodically passed a girl on her way to the bus stop.
She would answer “hello” if I said “hello” first and would wave back if I waved first but acted like she did not want to talk and we did not know her name. She lives in a house that seems to be shared by other people including members of the Hogar y Jardin landscaping crew. Today, after my “Good Morning” she stopped and told me she would probably be moving to Lynnwood at the end of the month. She said she it was better for her because of a bigger room and no more Jardin. I did learn her name is Michelle. We will miss seeing her.
Michele’s current home. Always crowded with Hogar y Jardin trucks.
5/18/2018 – Safeway Route.
This was a light day for trash and traffic except for one place. Got a honk from Mr. Handyman and several waves.
Hat Trick.
I saw this hat across the drainage ditch near the 7-11. I crossed over to get the hat and found a bag-full of hidden cans, bottles and paper. I was tricked.
Hissing Goose
Janet got too close to a goose, probably nesting, and got hissed at. She should not try to fling live animals.
Good Citizen.
Someone dumped some old paint at the bottom of the Tolt Pipeline. We picked it up with the car during the week to be recycled.
Janet is trying to get into this flinging thing, kind of.
Flower Child, 50 years later.
5/19/2018 – Riverside Drive.
There were a lot of bike riders out and we got some nice thanks from them. Also got a very enthusiastic Thank You from a lady in a pickup. Janet found a nickel.
We have been extending our walk along Riverside Drive with the goal of reaching the Bothell City limits. Today we reached that goal.
7.75 miles. Across the Bothell Bridge, down to the City Limits and up to Juanita-Woodinville Drive.
We are not getting as many cans and bottles, probably due to the spring growth of weeds. We will get to clean up the shreds after Bothell mows.
Only one wine bottle and a different brand.
Some thoughtful person put their cigarette butts in a plastic bag.
Then threw them out the window.
It was a day for bulky stuff.
We left it near the freeway and came back with the car to retrieve it.
Week 7 after the Limebike rescue.
No sign of the Lime Bike. We will miss the feisty girl.
